Indeed we have a housing crisis in Australia and it's not the only crisis. Which ever way we look we see government in our faces. We are overregulated and it's getting worse by the day. Much good land has been locked up in national parks which are breeding grounds for feral animals and other invasive species. Many of the parks need to be broken up immediately and the land made available for housing. Immigration needs to be savagely curtailed and that swiftly too. Many of our citizens are living rough with no hope for a decent future. Farmers are in dire straits and many are leaving the farming sector. Australia is at the precipice and if hard decisions aren't soon made for the betterment of the nation future generations will have no future at all. It's time for citizens to wake up and take more notice of what is happening in Australia.

National parks are NOT the problem... There is plenty of land for housing, other than national parks. Charging us to stay at them IS. Stop the waste of money and resources using prime agricultural land and forests for solar and wind for a start. Locking up huge portions of land under the disguise of first nation interests IS also a problem. Native title needs to stop. They are using the Aboriginal people as an EXCUSE to take our lands.

Indeed, David, you are right . Vast tracks of land have been taken over under the guise of Aboriginal land rights and if things continue there will be no lands or very little remaining in private hands. The land grab won't, and will never benefit the "natives". What really is going on here is communism under the guise of land rights. The Aboriginal industry was designed for that very thing. The so-called Aboriginals are just as much victims of the present system as are everyone else. Of course, it isn't politically correct to criticise what the government has done and will continue to do unless they stop. There is the issue of international agreements signed by a succession of governments in Australia as well. There is much needed doing to undo the wrongs and the present rulers aren't up to the challenge. Yes, also the charges to use national parks in many cases is excessive and discourages people from using them. This too is part of the conspiracy to limit their use. It might also be said that the parks are collateral for Australia's foreign loans. There is much we 'Joe Public' do not know is going on behind the scenes.

Yes, we need to have nothing to do with WHO/UN/WEF globalists who would like nothing better than 9 out of 10 of us to be DEAD.

Yes they want a population of 500 million globally - that means a 90% reduction of humans.

To achieve that with the current population of 8.062 billion people, it is actually more, sitting at nearly 94% the amount of us they want gone.

Agree whole heartily. They are wasting huge sums of tax payer money in the so-called renewables, which are anything but renewable, These things are dotting the landscape all over farming land. They are not viable energy sources because they are too inefficient. We do indeed need to stop immigration for a few years. First priority should be for our own people here in Australia, people born here. Housing has become too expensive, even in rural areas. There is nowhere cheap any more for the first home buyers. My daughter will probably never own her own home. WA has become like the rest of the nation with unaffordable housing, most small to median houses costing in excess of $500.00.

Average worker $97000??? Not likely for blue collar... lucky to get 60000 per year gross and then half or more is rent after tax... great help "government"! Tax free threshold should be 50000 at least, and probably would have been more than that if indexed with inflation each each since the early 80's...

Senator, you are spot on with what u write. How do we educate the wider public to see what is going on. It’s rolling out like a great plan and the average person cannot see what is happening. Look at the trouble European countries are having with the mass migration. It’s heart breaking. It’s obvious the plan is to erase National Identities. My opinion is immigration needs to stop now. Young men without wives and girlfriends. How strange is that.? Labour also wants to give away our Sovereignty to the WHO. What can go wrong? How to inform the masses when there is censorship in the media. This is one very big battle that needs to be won. Keep going Senator. I appreciate all your efforts on all issues. Regards Maureen

Yes they Government appears to be suffering from a mental paralysis. Simple primary school maths must help ….

1. People desperate for housing are growing in numbers.

2. Housing is becoming shorter in supply .

3. Government solution ….. is to bring in more people who will be desperate for housing, which is becoming shorter and shorter in supply.

PLEASE EXPLAIN !!!!

Sadly I see no mental paralysis here John. I see design, trickling down to our bought and paid for leaders by the true powers of this world.

Sadly I'm afraid you have hit the nail on the head. What one tends to take as gross incompetence and a life-long habit of telling lies is actually manipulation of our 'leaders' by the true powers of this world. If the other side of politics would get their act together - stop dithering about net zero, recognise it as an impossible mirage and kick it in the guts. Then present a strong front on immigration and cutting government expenditure of our money - show themselves as people who believe in Australia and in its people and are prepared to fight for it - we might get somewhere.

A grand article Senator Babet.

The problem lies in part, getting the information about the situation into those who can make the changes .... "the 95%'s", the rest of the problem is convincing those same 95%'s they have it in them to make those changes and to act on that conviction.

The current political duopoly must be destroyed. Any tyrannical successor(s) must be destroyed swiftly there after.

'Party' politics must be outlawed from the political landscape and the Western world must be returned to their strengthened Constitutions. "Down with Corporate Government".

As a seasoned construction industry veteran of 45 years, I've built a successful electrical and air conditioning installation business employing 50 people, while raising a beautiful family of seven children and eight grandchildren with my wonderful wife.

The construction landscape in Australia has changed dramatically since COVID-19, and not for the better. The challenges we face are unprecedented - from excessive council approval processes to overwhelming bureaucracy. Safe work regulations have become burdensome, unlicensed trades are operating under the radar, and we're grappling with skyrocketing interest rates and living costs.

Government stimulus packages, while well-intentioned, are actually contributing to inflation rather than solving our economic challenges. What was once Australia's premier industry is now struggling under the weight of misguided policies at both federal and state levels.

While I appreciate the ongoing discussions about these issues, we need more than just acknowledgment - we need actionable solutions. Like many Australians, I'm frustrated by the crushing combination of high living costs, interest rates, and ever-increasing material and freight prices, not to mention the astronomical housing market.

I've reached the sobering conclusion that my children's homeownership dreams depend on my financial support. This places immense pressure on my family, and I know many others face the same dilemma. Most families can barely manage their own mortgages, let alone help their children enter the housing market.

Senator Babet, what concrete steps do you propose to address these pressing issues affecting Australian families and the construction industry?

Bring in more immigrants is a way to prop up the massive overspending of socialist governments meanwhile, we have not enough housing, overcrowding of schools, hospitals, congestion on the roads, more crime, crammed into massive housing complexes and you will own nothing and be happy. God help us.

They don’t want Australia, they want one borderless world. No country, no Christianity, no family, no gender, no identity. Totally dependent on those few at the top who are in control. Rapid AI development is hurtling us toward this future in double speed as our leaders are deliberately diluting our culture with mass immigration and penalising what we say on social media so no one dares stand up for fear of retribution. Friends.. read your bibles, pray and draw closer to Jesus!

Thanks John, I agree. human technologies are at the highest point in history and yet humanity is in a perpetual state of decline. At some point we need to ask ourselves how this could be and why? The bible gives us the answers in incredible detail. It also gave us the solution. Jesus. Yet we are a stiff necked people and still see ourselves as the solution.

Absolutely right. I have never seen so much housing stress as today. There are so many Australians living in tents and whatever they can find, yet these immigrants are placed in the available houses, no doubt with much from the government. It has to be part of the agenda to destroy this country, it is so weird. It doesn't matter whether a person is in a capital city or out then back of Bourke, rents are ridiculously high. I have a granddaughter paying $550 a week rent with 4 young children, a grandson living in a bus on a property in northern NSW. He had to give up his job in Brisbane because the house he was living in was up for a lease renewal so he was given notice to leave and then the rent was increased by hundreds of dollars for the next person. He was unable to find accommodation anywhere in Brisbane that was affordable so he had to qjuit a good job as a printer and nnow he is in the boondoo living in a bus with his family paying $375 a week!!! This is a real crisis and my heart breaks for the younger ones who just cannnot find a place to live

Please continue to share your thoughts and insights openly, as your contributions can have a significant impact on both you and the next elected senator from the United Australia Party. It is crucial for Australia to have dedicated members of parliament who are not only knowledgeable but also skilled in communicating complex issues in clear and straightforward language. Senator you are on the correct path. Keep up the good work. There is only one flag and one culture if we are to survive. Marxism has shown to be a total failure, and the reason China is heading to dominate the world as it has adopted a capitalist theology at its core thanks to Premier Deng looking over the wall into Hong Kong prior Hong Kong's return to China. China was never sucked in by the "climate disaster", building two coal powered electricity plants a week.
