I, too, am an Australian citizen who, luckily, has many friends in many countries. 2 are those who left Venezuela because of the dictatorship and now say they will go home. I appreciate the reply. And I agree with your thoughts about gold and US debt. China and India have been buying up the world's gold reserves for years now. As you say there are fears that the US dollar will collapse and gold retains and increases value over time.

China: wants world hegemony and has been doing it economically. Many western nations stopped their own manufacturing for cheaper made products in China. Australia was one. Trump is tryng to bring back manufacturing in the US. Australia should do the same thing. Why are we selling our coal to China who is building coal powered power stations,- one a week I've read- polluting the environment, while the Aussies are being screwed with power bills because of "green energy" and the climate change scam. Next China has huge human rights violations - Christians are persecuted there and resort to underground churches, and what about the Muslim Uighurs in West China that are basically slaves, to produce cheap goods we buy, in factories and have been persecuted and killed as well. The "Belt and Road " initiative by China is an attempt by China to control the world economy. TAIWAN : China has made it clear they will take the democracy of Taiwan through military force. Then look at the artificial islands they've been building for years all headed toward Australia, and how they have bailed out small island nations in the Western Pacific through economics that will control them .... The human manufactured Covid virus came out of the Wuhan lab in China....That's now proven. So what are their intentions really?? Australia had, as you say, strong economic ties with China during Covid, because there weren't the goods being produced in Australia that people needed. Australia cannot defend itself, and if or when it is attacked, who do you think will come to its rescue? Neutrality is not going to protect it. It will be up for grabs. VENEZUELA: has been run into the ground by Madura. It was one of the most wealthy countries in the world 20+ years ago. The oil infrastructure was paid for and built by the US and was never paid back to US companies that built it. It was seized. Tonnes of cocaine being produced there were being sent primarily to the US. Madura laundered money for Hezbollah, an Islamist terrorist organization. Russia and Iran had, or still have proxy bases installed there. Crude oil was helping fund Russia's war against Ukraine. If we had all that going on in Papua New Guinea, our hemisphere, for example, what would Australia do?? Probably nothing under Albo, a globalist puppet who could not put his hand on the Bible when he was sworn in, and living with his girlfriend for years...

yes, sure there is a lot more to say. I don't agree with some of your points but that is not so important. You somehow keep missing my point though. I do not advocate an exclusive partnership with China out of some of the reasons you mentioned and some others. But as said, BRICS is not China and the imperialistic efforts that all super powers make is unrelated to BRICS. Australia, as being part of the "5 Eyes" and AUKUS, has already committed itself to being controlled by the US and the UK. I guess (some) Australians well remember how Australian troops where exploited by the UK in WW2 and don't be fooled, Americans only step in when they see their interests being threatened. That was the case with WW2 and with the Vietnam war. On contrary, the US currently fears nothing more than China. Mostly because of its advance in AI and the necessary energy infrastructure, and the US' only chance is to start WW3 to regain its lost dominance. Australia will be in the front row when the US is dragging them into their dirty wars.

My wife is Colombian, my brother inlaw Venezuelan, they had lived in Venezuela multiple times due to Pablo Escobar and the the violence associated with a government who was involved with the Colombian cartels. I, myself went to Venezuela in 2005 we drove as a family in a Mazda 121 with 7 of us in the car from Medellín, Colombia. Chavez had been in charge for a few years and you cold already see issues. Roads were dirt, you dont drive at night ect. I say this to say those self righteous left wing and many conservative comentators, media, politicians ect. Just need to shut the hell up and let Trump do this. The west for over 20 years has stood by and done nothing while Venezuela and its people suffer and die. And now that Trump had the balls to do what no one else was willing to do, he is vilified for it! If you haven't been there or have family who have lived it "SHUT THE HELL UP YOU KNOW NOTHING". My last trip to Colombia was heart breaking. The ammount of Venezuelan families on the street with no where to go or no one to turn to is gut wrenching. We went to Medellín to visit family, ended up buying God only knows how much food to help support families, toys for children. Every 2nd waiter in a restaurant is a Venezuelan college graduate with multipul degrees working their ass off to provide for their displaced families, and the self righteous left of western society waving their anti Israel slogans, Palestine flags and crying down with the west has no idea what they are protesting or cares as long as they get paid so more suffer. We need tradesmen initially to commence building housing and infrastructure for important industry. Cancel all wind and solar farms and commence replacing and upgrading coal fired power stations. Commence removing all moslems and leadership who speak or act out against our laws. Stop all marches right now who follow extremist views, and speak against Australian law, beliefs our flag and so on. Enable the Police and Military to take all immigrants who are against our Australian values and expel them and remove their Australian citizenship. Increase our military strength and put people into leadership positions because of their abilities, not their genders.
